Seasaur

So I have been getting a few complaints about not having any new pictures lately… which is a good thing! I have been busy starting school and trying to figure out which classes to take. I ended up taking 4 studios which goes against recommendations but… here I go! I am taking: Time Arts, Figure Sculpture, Drawing, Experimental Radio Production, and Japanese Art & Design(AH!). Between the 4 studios I should have some new things to post soon!

To hold you over here are a couple of little doodles I did the other day on some old water color testing paper:

Peacock Purple: Water Color and Gel Pen on Paper- 3x4

Seasaur: Water Color and Ink on Paper- 3x4

Green Lakes

Happy New Year!

So here in the mid-winter snow I thought I would share a few photos I took this past fall. These are from a walk around the lovely Green Lakes which is gorgeous all year round but in the fall has some of the most beautiful colors I have ever seen. Isn’t God amazing??? I also collected leaves on this walk and scanned them into photoshop and will be doing a piece with them later on… Enjoy!

Water Color

So, I’ve never really painted before, unless you count the tempera paint I used around age 11. Therefore I had the inkling to go to the local craft store and pick up a crappy watercolor set to mess around with. Here are my first two paintings:

3 Pink Wishes: Water Color on Water Color Paper - 11x14

Purple Sock

Sometimes I draw on my socks when I’m bored… like today. Fabric Markers = Instant Satisfaction. Bought a $5 set of watercolors a couple of days ago… eager to try them out!

A few weeks ago I went out and bought a $5 set of pastels and this is what resulted. This was an idea I have had for months but didn’t get it on paper until now.

About Me

© Alyse French Photography

Hi! My name is Nina and I am a freshman in the Visual and Performing Arts school at Syracuse University. I am still undecided as a major but am looking at either Communications Design or Industrial and Interaction Design. Right now I am in an explorative state with my art/design work. My whole life I was always a “craftsy” person but not until a year or so ago did I realize my talent and love for art and design. I am excited to explore new medias and learn new techniques as I develop my skill set. This blog is a way for me to push myself further in creations and share my passions with others.
